OK, you all know we’ll be visiting Bruges and Le-Touquet-Paris-Plage during the 3 days of the Rally - but what about the twiddly bits that get us from one place to another?
Our REAL Rally direction-finders have outlined a route that gives a proper “road-trip” feel without being too much of a slog. Following feedback from last year’s event, we will be rolling in convoy (Kris Kristofferson style) and stopping frequently for food & drink breaks (Bob Linwood style).
More specifics will be revealed at the startline - in the meantime here’s a little taster of what to expect…

Day 1: Eurotunnel to Bruges (Belgium)
Following the speedy conveyance through the ‘Tunnel sous la Manche’ (we’re in holiday mode already!), we will be heading straight onto country roads to get our 2017 road trip under way. We’ll be passing by the historic Flemish towns of Saint Omer, Cassel and Ypres, before heading across the plain to the medieval loveliness of Bruges.
Day 2: Bruges to Le Touquet (France)
A quick swing by the northern coast and then we cut inland, aiming for Saint Omer once more. Another day of flowing country roads, passing through quaint villages and scenery sees us pass by the hilltop citadel town of Montreal-sur-Mer (which isn't actually 'sur-Mer') any more!) before reaching chic-y, cheeky Le Touquet for night number 2!
Day 3: Le Touquet to Eurotunnel
Again we make the best of the twisty bits, heading inland slightly to take in some French Rally stages around Desvres, before heading up the coast for a seaside sojourn. On a good day the white cliffs of southern England look close enough to jump to (on a bad day you wouldn't even know they were there!). Then it's back on the train to Blightly and the final run in for home!
