After the fabulously enjoyable first running of The REAL Rally in 2016, we can't wait for the second one - due to set off on Thursday, May 18th, for another 3-day European fundraising adventure!
For the 2017 event, we will once again be stopping over in two fantastic and diverse destinations - enjoying the perfectly-preserved medieval romance of Bruges in Belgium at the end of day one, then the Roaring Twenties elegance of Le Touquet-Paris-Plage on the northern French coast for day two.
Following feedback from last year's competitors, we have made a couple of minor tweaks to the format for 2017. Firstly, we've cut down the overall mileage and will no longer be reliant on motorways for our official Rally route, giving you more time and opportunity to discover the country lanes and backwater gems of northern Europe you all enjoyed so much last year.
This more relaxed schedule will also free up a bit of travel time and allow us to include more group liaison points, giving competitors regular opportunities for refreshments, leg stretches and general banter and socialising!
Secondly, we have cut down the out-of-the-cars itinerary to give everyone more flexibility. We will still all meet up at the beginning of each evening for an informal drinks reception, but then everyone will be free to do what they want regarding eating, sightseeing and revelry.
Last year's REAL Rally raised over £30,000 for two fantastic causes and we hope to do even better in 2017! So, get registered and start perusing Ebay and the like for a suitable steed - we guarantee you'll have a ball!
